Waiting for death

Edwin Shneidman, 90, is not afraid of death.  He has studied it all his life: 1955-66, co-founder and co-director of the Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center; 1966-69, chief of the National Institutes of Mental Health’s Center for Studies of Suicide Prevention; 1970-88, professor of thanatology at UCLA.

[Update: Edwin S. Shneidman dies at 91; pioneer in the field of suicide prevention]

i love this slideshow for its simplicity. no music, graphics, or sound support are necessary. the clarity of shneidman's words are complemented by beautifully composed images of his home. thank you for this story!
