April 24, 1973: From left, Leonard Nimoy (Spock),  DeForest Kelley (Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy) and William Shatner (Capt. James T. Kirk)  — stars of hit TV series “Star Trek”  — record their voices in a Los Angeles studio for “Star Trek: The Animated Series,” which premiered in September 1973. 

A total of 22 episodes were produced and broadcast in 1973-74.
