Indonesia hit by tsunami and volcano eruption

Indonesia was struck by twin catastrophes within 24 hours this week. On Monday night a powerful earthquake triggered a 10-foot tsunami that swept away entire villages and at least 370 people. On Tuesday, Mt. Merapi erupted, killing more than 30 people. The images in the gallery above recount the human and environmental toll.
