Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival: Dec. 14 – 16, 2010
Film festivals are a great place to get inspired and see what other people are up in visual storytelling. Although, the work is fiction, the techniques, cinematography, lighting, editing and visual sense can inspire us all in the way we create and present stories. This three day film festival in Los Angeles was established to showcase up and coming filmmakers with undistributed work made with a budget of less than $5 million. This is an opportunity to screen multiple unique films, some of them being the world premiere – and a nice way to spend an evening. I imagine there will be several breakout stars and surprises from this collection of films and being that this is the first event for this organization, it’s very cool to say next year, that you went to the first one.
