Aerial views of Afghanistan’s volatile Helmand Province

Associated Press photographer Kevin Frayer offers up an unusual perspective of Afghanistan’s Helmand Province. His black-and-white photo essay taken from a medical-evacuation helicopter near Marja is artistically executed. From a shepherd herding his flocks, to camels in a convoy to Marines attended to an injured comrade, these images offer a fresh look at this troubled region.
