Wounded
Jan. 31, 1971: A young man lies wounded after violence broke out during a Chicano demonstration in East Los Angeles. Friends of the man try to wave demonstrators away.
One man was slain by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies. Twenty-five people, including seven law enforcement officers, were hurt. About 70 stores were damaged or destroyed.
