Lakers lose to Celtics -- again

Lakers lose to Celtics — again

May 5, 1969: Jerry West walks off the floor at the Forum after the Lakers had lost to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight years. West scored 42 points in the 108-106 loss.

For the 1968-69 season, the Lakers obtained center Wilt Chamberlin and were favored to win the championship. But the outcome was still the same.

West finally won a title in his 12th season when the Lakers beat the New York Knicks in 1972.
