William and Kate: The royal wedding

Crowds lined the streets of central London on Friday, April 29, 2011, to await the much-anticipated wedding of Prince William and his college sweetheart, Catherine Middleton. The groom is second-in-line to the throne of England, his bride is a commoner. Hours before the ceremony was to start, his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, declared new titles for the soon-to-be newlyweds: the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Along the route  between Westminster Abbey — where the ceremony is scheduled to take place — and Buckingham Palace, revelers strung bunting and Union Jacks.

Well, I wish them well. However, the entire event was too low key – almost shall I say "working class" – dowdy even – the flowers were the greatest dissapointment. This is not the Royal experience I would have expected – very dour. You would think that with all their wealth and pomp they owed us something much morem but it is clear that they really do not care for any of it. It was a waste of time but I watched it anyway.

I noticed that when ever the Prince saluted, Kate would bow her head. Being an American who is unfamiliar with British Royalty customs, can someone explain to me why she would do that?
    Thanx

Wow royalty at its best romance is in the air. What a glorious wedding for Wills and Kate. So much pomp and splendour. No wonder we all love it all. Congratulations to the newly married couple. Wills you would have made your Mum Princess Diana so proud and Harry did his job so well as the best man. The wedding dress was just so fitting for a Princess. Happy wedding days Kate and William.

The Prince saluted and the Duchess of Cambridge bowed her as they passed the Cenotaph, which commemorates the dead of two world wars. It's not just a Royal thing, all serving officers and men pay their respects in this way.

Why? The rather, umm, sort of, ah, well, the very, unabundant thing they did with her dress cut in front to show just a hint of ribs and sternum, nothing interesting like a jewel, at least they could say they pawned it for the good of the …say, British damage somewhere in Colonial times, like, umm…like the bunch of descendants in Baja California from fathered kids by English pirates, for example, one named "Davis"…there are all kinds of people named Davis in Baja now, even a street named that, and so, maybe they could do some, say, deadbeat dad recompense to the urchins at the beach among the fishheads thrown out from the fishing boats, etc.
