Southern California Moments: Film Week! In Review

With digital image manipulation techniques so easy and available (do you want black and white? Super-saturated color? High contrast? There’s a preset for that!) It’s always surprising just how people are pushing their creative limits using film. Not only did we see Polaroids, black and white and medium format square images – which are all the rage right now, we also saw an image shot on film that was easily more than 40 years old.

The selects from our film week, as well as a few other standouts, are above. Enjoy, and see you next challenge.

In the meantime, submit your images, digital or film, to our gallery or the L.A. Times Community group on Flickr.
