Newspapers win News and Documentary Emmy Awards

Two newspapers were winners at the 32nd annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards on Monday in New York. The awards were presented in 42 categories, including breaking news, investigative reporting, outstanding interview and best documentary, among others.

The Los Angeles Times won for “Caught in the Crossfire: Victims of Gang Violence,” above, that documented the physical and emotional pain endured by crime victims and their families. See the complete project.

The New York Times won Emmys for “A Year at War,” which followed the deployment of a battalion of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan, and “14 Actors Acting,” a series of brief clips that included Matt Damon and Tilda Swinton.
