Senior Airman Bryan Kondub kneels beside the grave of a fallen soldier at the Cambridge American Cemetery after a memorial service in Madingley. The cemetery, the only burial ground in England for Americans killed in World War II, is the resting place of 3,812 U.S. military personnel. The names of 5,126 Americans who died but whose remains were never recovered or identified are inscribed in the walls of Portland stone that surround the cemetery.
