Wind-blown snow
Nov. 29, 1996: Snow from snow-making machines swirls around ski lift passengers at Bear Mountain near Big Bear Lake.
The subtitle for this image is “My Turn,” as in my turn to blog about one of my photos. This image, taken on a Thanksgiving weekend trip, was published as stand alone art in the Dec. 3, 1996, Los Angeles Times.
After appearing in The Times, this photo moved on the Associated Press wire leading to publication in newspapers around the United States.
Then ‘Wind-blown Snow’ became a popular file photo in the Los Angeles Times that was published five more times between 1997 and 2005.
