Reader Photos: Best of Southern California Moments for December

The last month of 2011 brought us some beautiful images, including a number of quiet, really thoughtful ones. In terms of technique, Omid Akhavan’s self-portrait on San Vicente Boulevard and Eric Norris’ use of a 10-stop filter to make a 30-second exposure of the Santa Monica Pier are standouts. But I particularly like Jimmay Bones’ take on a classic urban image — a shoe hanging from a wire with the downtown Los Angeles skyline silhouetted in the background.

This year has been a huge success for Southern California Moments, and we’re continuing the project in 2012. See you there.
