University of California police in riot gear keep hundreds of student protesters from entering the Highland Union Building at UC Riverside, where the UC regents were meeting Thursday.

Students protesting tuition rate hikes were held back from entering the regents meeting. Campus police, Riverside police and Riverside County sheriff's deputies were on campus to control the crowds.

    I am wondering why there are no pictures of the bruised and bloody students who had rubber projectiles fired at them. I don't understand why the LA Times isn't reporting that at all. Did your reporters leave early?
