‘Deadline Every Second’: May 8

Ken Kobre and John Hewitt, professors at San Francisco State University, have filmed, produced, and edited “Deadline Every Second,” a documentary following 12 Associated Press photographers from around the world.

“Deadline Every Second” follows photographers Oded Balilty, Chris Carlson, Jeff Chiu, Richard Drew, Khalil Hamra, Julie Jacobsen, Mark Lennihan, Bebeto Matthews, Lefteris Pitarakis, Laurent Rebours, Marcio Jose Sanchez, and Tara Todras-Whitehill as they do their jobs covering the daily headlines of the world.  The film works to give viewers the behind-the-scenes story as it takes you from New York to the Middle East, California and Europe.

The West Coast premiere of this documentary is free at UCLA’s Ackerman Student Union and will be followed with a panel discussion with Kobre and other photojournalists.
