Perusing through the Boston Globe’s stellar photo blog, one can’t help but be intrigued by the work of photojouralist Dian Markosian. The batch of photography titled “Young Women of Chechnya” is beautifully haunting. This photo essay is a wonderful body of work with an immense amount of depth.
Why Do Wedding Dresses Cost So Much
This video approach of Caitlin Kenney exploring the high price of wedding dresses is quite entertaining because she made it a very personal story. If you’ve ever shopped for a wedding gown, the prices are mind-blowing. This video is quick and informative, and may not be the best example of filmmaking, but it’s a nice way to add a video element to a story.
One of my favorite blogs I recently discovered produces videos. Cool Hunting, a site that oozes style, produces videos and talks to people who are creating innovation. The video of Los Angeles artist Albert Reyes made me curious since I live in L.A. The Omni Heat video of Columbia Sportswear is interesting. There is very little glitz to the videos, but they get the point across.
Book Names Iconic Times Square Kissing Couple from World War II
Everyone knows the Alfred Eisenstaedt photograph of the sailor kissing the nurse in New York City’s Times Square. A new book claims to have discovered the identity of the sailor and nurse and brings their story to life.
