Nov. 22, 1950: Carol Cregar, vice president of UCLA’s freshman class, pushes pie into the face of sophomore Gwin Allenberg after freshmen won the last event — the pie-eating contest — at UCLA’s Frosh-Soph Brawl.
During the annual seven-event program, UCLA sophomores won the men’s tug-of-war, tire steal, circle fight, bat spin and tricycle relay. The frosh won the women’s tug of war and the pie-eating contest — getting in, pardon the bad photo pun, the best shot of the day.
