2012 London Olympics | Day 6

Here are some highlights from Day 6 of the 2012 London Olympics.

The United States celebrated winning the gold medal in the women’s eight rowing competition by throwing their coxswain, Mary Whipple, into the water. Other images of celebration include Britain’s Gemma Gibbons competing in the women’s 78-kilogram judo contest;  Italy’s Valentina Vezzali after winning a semifinals match against France in women’s team foil fencing; and Xavier Valles Trias of Spain marking his team’s 13-9 victory over Australia during a preliminary men’s water polo match.

Other images come from the Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park, the equestrian venue, volleyball events at Horse Guards Parade and other competition sites.
