Bordeaux, France — A facsimile of a painting from the Lascaux caves, part of the "Lascaux III" traveling exhibition, in southwestern France. This exhibition will bring the Lascaux paintings and artifacts to museum audiences in such places as the U.S., Canada and Asia. The original cave of Lascaux was closed to the public in April 1963 and a partial reconstitution, Lascaux II, was built several hundred meters from the site.

Kona, Hawai — While athletes prepare to compete in the Ironman World Championship on Saturday, several hundred participants gathered in their boxers and briefs to compete in the annual "Underpants Run." The one-mile jog featured men and women wearing nothing but their running sneakers -- and some inventive undergarments -- as the event gives competitors an opportunity to shake out some nerves before race day.
