Sky Tower at Marineland of the Pacific

Sky Tower at Marineland of the Pacific

July 1966: Visitors aboard the recently opened Marineland Sky Tower get a 360-degree panorama of the park and Palos Verdes.  The ride carried 60 visitors 314 feet above the park.

Former staff photographer Don Cormier extended a camera – mounted on a boom – from the top of Sky Tower to take this photo, which was published in the July 12, 1966, Los Angeles Times.

Marineland of the Pacific opened in 1954 and closed in 1987. The Sky Tower was removed in 1995.

"Camera mounted on a BOOM" is the way it should read. Where's the proof-reader? Or a knowledge of spelling?
