Burt Lancaster in hospital
Jan. 10, 1958. Nurse Genevieve Grigoli and actor Burt Lancaster check on each other’s pulses at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. Lancaster was in the hospital for an emergency appendectomy.
A short article reported:
Actor Burt Lancaster’s pulse fluttered yesterday when Nurse Genevieve Grigoli checked it and his temperature in his room at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital.
Nurse Grigoli’s pulse did a little dance of its own when Lancaster seized her wrist to make his own check.
A different photo by staff photographer Bill Murphy appeared in the Jan. 11, 1958 Los Angeles Times. This photo, also by Murphy, appeared in the Los Angeles Times 1999 book, “High Exposure: Hollywood Lives — Found Photos From the Archives of the Los Angeles Times.”
