Stolen Oscar returned to Bill Thomas

Petersen, whose professional name is Bill Thomas, won the Oscar in 1961 for costume design in the movie “Spartacus.” It was taken in an $11,000 burglary of his Bel-Air home in May 1976. Two suspects were arrested.

I would like to know if Mr Bill Thomas was also a photographer or if he frequently mingled with hollywood types etc, As I found an old black and white photo today and on the reverese is stamped BILL THOMAS 1544 W 11TH ST LOS ANGELES CA. 90047 AND HIS PHONE NUMBER WHICH I SHALL NOT POST FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.
