March 29, 1982: An ailing Henry Fonda gets a good look at his Oscar at his home in Bel-Air with wife Shirlee and daughter Jane. Fonda was unable to attend the ceremony the night before, when he was won his first Academy Award, for his lead actor role in "On Golden Pond," which costarred Jane Fonda and Katherine Hepburn. He died just a few months later of heart disease at age 77.

April 19, 1966: Lee Marvin, left, displays his Oscar at Los Angeles International Airport before catching a flight for London while Smokey the horse, right, goes into his cross-legged antics with the help of Ky Wilhoit at a Glendale stable. When Marvin accepted the best actor Academy Award the night before for his dual roles in "Cat Ballou," he said Smokey deserved half the Oscar.
