Today’s Pictures in the News finds us stuck in Los Angeles traffic, flying high over Angel Stadium in Anaheim for the season opener, in New York City with Elmo and a trader on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, and in Texas with a pensive puppy rescued from abandonment.

Further afield, we’re in London at 10 Downing Street, where a little girl remembers the late former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher; on a tense Korean border between north and south, and with Kashmiri Muslim fishermen on India’s Dal Lake.
