Also in SoCal,  L.A. Kings center Trevor Lewis celebrates with fans and teammates after he scored the winning goal late in the third period to beat the Sharks in game two of the NHL Western Conference Semifinals at Staples Center.

Elsewhere, visitors wait to receive the first beer during the opening ceremony of a beer festival in Erlangen, Germany; a young pilgrim tries to control his horse during the annual El Rocio pilgrimage in Spain; and activists of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community take part in a rally marking the International Day Against Homophobia at the Marsovo field in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Add stops in Zimbabwe, India, Nepal and the Netherlands to round out the report.
