The seventh annual Cultural Day at the Grove brought out performers representing L.A.'s sister cities on Sunday. The Niari Dance Ensemble from the Valley brought groups to represent Yerevan, Armenia. Niari volunteer Margaret Nalbandian puts makeup on Aline Nagarian as Nareen Arkian looks on.

The puddle jumpers (the Dreckschweine) play the winter, participants dressed in white act as the summer. A female hostage is evacuated by Israeli security forces following a bank robbery that escalated into a hostage situation in the Israeli city of Beersheva. Four people were killed and three others wounded in a botched bank heist in southern Israel, which ended when a robber who had held a hostage shot himself dead, police said.
