Lake Arrowhead Village, 1932

1932 photo of Lake Arrowhead Village.

This photo was published in the Aug. 14, 1932, Los Angeles Times, accompanying an article for Olympic visitors pinpointing “fourteen interesting and scenic motor trips which can be made starting from and returning to Los Angeles the same day.”

The Lake Arrowhead day trip had already been highlighted in a June 5, 1932, Los Angeles Times article that reported “The Times scout car – a 1932 Reo Flying Cloud sport sedan from Herbert Woodward, Inc., made the all-paved highway jaunt from Los Angeles in 2 1/2 hours.”

And for you folks who don't know what what a 1932 Reo (Note: It should be REO) Flying Cloud sport sedan is, no, it's not the music group REO Speedwagon, but REO stood for Ransom E. Olds, of Old'smobile fame.
