This photo accompanied an article in the April 14, 1924, Los Angeles Times, which reported:

Prominent figures in the Los Angeles musical world formed a reception committee which greeted yesterday Mrs. John F. Lyons, president of the National Federation of Music Clubs, when she arrived at the Arcade station for a two weeks’ stay in town….

The Los Angeles federation will give a banquet to Mrs. Lyons today at the Ambassador at 6:30 p.m. On the program will be Cecil Fanning, baritone, by courtesy of L. E. Behymer; a quartet from the Philharmonic Orchestra, by courtesy of William E. Clark Jr., and a speech by Mrs. Lyons, which will be broadcast by radio. This dinner is the principal social event arranged for Mrs. Lyons.

According to the website of the National Assn. of Music Clubs, Mrs. John F. Lyons of Texas served as the 10th president of the organization, from 1921 to 1925.
