Friday’s Pictures in the News begins in New York, where members of the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps of Washington, D.C., perform during the reopening ceremony of the Statue of Liberty, which was closed for eight months due to Super-storm Sandy. Other Fourth of July celebrations included the annual Huntington Beach Parade; a fireworks and light show at Grand Park near City Hall in downtown Los Angeles; and a fireworks ceremony to honor the 19 fallen firefighters in the Yarnell fire near Prescott, Ariz.
