A Syrian man helps someone injured during an airstrike in the northern city of Aleppo's Maadi neighborhood. Two children were among at least 13 people killed in new airstrikes on a rebel-held district, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Firefighters battle a blaze in the warehouse district near the St. Louis riverfront. After breaking down the doors of a warehouse, firefighters had to retreat because of the intense heat and flames coming from the building. Over 80 firefighters were called to the scene. No one was injured.

A severely malnourished Waka, age 2, sits on the floor at a pediatric center in Bangui, Central African Republic. According to UNICEF Dr. Celestin Traore, even though malnutrition is high in the country, the problem is worsening due to unrest in the country. Traore expects to see over 150 malnourished children daily in the coming days as the humanitarian situation worsens. Over 1,600 French troops have been deployed to the country in an effort to put an end to sectarian violence.
