In Thursday’s Pictures in the News, friends of Kim Pham, who was beaten to death outside the Crosby nightclub in downtown Santa Ana, comfort each other at the scene of the attack.

Pomona: A bicyclist was struck and killed by a Foothill Transit bus on White Avenue, between Orange Grove and Holt avenues, Thursday morning.

Hollywood: After placing his front paws in cement to make an impression, “Leo the Lion” walks past photographers at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.  MGM is celebrating its 90th year in the entertainment industry, and for nearly all of those years, Leo has roared at the start of the studio’s films. Instructions were given to photographers not to yell, not to use flash photography and to make no sudden movements. An electric wire was placed between the group of photographers and the lion.

Los Angeles: Dodger Stadium was transformed for a hockey game between the Kings and Ducks on Saturday.

And there’s more from around the world.
