Pinehurst, N.C.: Martin Kaymer of Germany reacts to his missed birdie on the 17th hole during the second round of the U.S. Open golf tournament.

Los Angeles: A Metro Expo Line train collided with a car knocking the front of the train off the tracks. A 55-year-old woman driving the car and a 21-year-old man aboard the train were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Portland, Ore.: Cyclists pose for a “selfie” as they joined thousands of bicyclists at Normandale Park  for the 11th annual World Naked Bike Ride, which is the largest ride of its kind.

Shotul, Afghanistan: Villagers lead donkeys carrying ballot boxes and other election materials to polling stations not accessible by road along a path in the Shotul district of Panjshir province.

Add stops in France, Indonesia and the West Bank to round out the report.
