Los Angeles: Investigators at the scene of a deputy-involved shooting in the 5000 block of Olympic Boulevard that left one man wounded.

Jakarta, Indonesia: The phases of a total lunar eclipse, or the blood moon, are shown during a press conference. According to NASA, the Oct. 8 blood moon is the second in an extraordinary series of lunar eclipses. The first was April 14. The third is on April 4, 2015 and the fourth is on Sept. 28, 2015.
