Pictures in the News | Feb. 11, 2015

In Wednesday’s Pictures in the News, photojournalist Luis Sinco makes use of what photographers call the “golden light” when the sun is nearly set around Los Angeles.

Boston: Commuters walk between piles of snow on a downtown street. The National Weather Service forecasts a weak weather system may bring 2 to 4 inches of new snow Thursday into Friday morning to the region, which already has seen record snowfalls this winter.

Qatar: A pack of riders pass a truck transporting camels during the fourth stage of the 2015 Tour of Qatar, between al-Thakhira and Mesaieed. Dutch rider Niki Terpstra of the Etixx team retained the leader’s gold jersey of the Tour of Qatar after today’s fourth stage won by Norwegian Alexander Kristoff, the Katusha cyclist’s second success.

Kramatorsk, Ukraine: A man walks past an unexploded rocket in the Donetsk region. The leaders of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany were to hold peace talks aimed at halting a 10-month war in Ukraine where dozens were killed in the latest fighting.

And there’s more.
