Dodger Stadium scrabble

Dodger Stadium scrabble

Aug. 1968: Scrabble being played in the Dodger Stadium press box.

Although the Scrabble players appear to be reporters, the original caption in the Aug. 7, 1968 Los Angeles Times said:

With pitching dominating the game, these announcers at Dodger Stadium have found a way to fill in the time between hits. That’s right, they’re playing that old parlor game Scrabble.

This shot by staff photographer Larry Sharkey was published at the bottom of the Sports section front page. The same Aug. 7, 1968 Sports section reported that the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Dodgers, 4-1.
