In Monday’s Pictures in the News, tornadoes rip through Texas and Arkansas, killing four and injuring dozens. In Texas, two people died and eight were missing after a tornado pummeled the small city of Van in Van Zandt County on Sunday night, according to city officials.

Kashgar, China: A sandstorm in the northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region creates a selfie opportunity.

Los Angeles: Blake Griffin of the Clippers and  Trevor Ariza of the Rockets get tangled in an NBA playoff game at Staples Center.
