Christmas tree topping out ceremony

Christmas tree topping out ceremony

Dec. 5, 1968: The last girder is moved into place during topping out ceremonies at a 27-story Century City high-rise building.

Staff photographer Joe Kennedy added to his caption:

The last girder even had a bit of yuletide cheer involved with an Xmas tree at one end and a stuffed Santa Claus at the other.

Avenue of the Stars is in the background.
