Waterman Canyon homes destroyed in 1980 Panorama fire

The fire, known at the Panorama fire, burned 14,680 acres, destroyed 293 residences and claimed four lives.

The Panorama fire was one of seven major blazes that broke out on Nov. 24-25, 1980, around Southern California. Santa Ana winds up to 100 mph pushed flames across 140 square miles, causing more than $50 million in damage.
