1973 Ram fans pass the football balloon
Dec. 16, 1973: Ram fans at the Coliseum got into the football act with a large balloon.
Staff photographer Art Rogers reported on the second quarter action:
Ram fans (about 75,000) at the coliseum Sunday got into the football act when someone released a large football balloon, and fans began slapping it around. Balloon was released in field stands but then was slapped into the south-east section of main seats. …
Eventually the balloon made its way completely around the stadium. On the field, the Rams beat the Cleveland Browns 30-17.
